Host Terri Lynn Coop is pleased to serve up writer Brynne Chandler on The Blue Plate Special.

Brynne Chandler is a former professional Santa’s Helper and beauty school dropout best known for her work in writing TV animation during the 1980s and 1990s. Her first paid writing gig was as a ghostwriter for the Atari computer game based on the novel “Dragonworld” written by Byron Price and J. Michael Reaves.

Her first produced TV animation script was written as a spec for the original “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”. It was featured as part of the show’s launch at Mann’s Chinese Theater. Her last produced script was an episode of Disney’s “Gargoyles”, a show she also story-edited.
In between those two scripts, Chandler was the first solo female Story Editor at DiC and 10 years later, she was the first solo female Story Editor at Disney. During that time, she wrote 200 produced scripts, including Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and My Little Ponies, went through several name changes, had two children and received an EMMY nomination for “Batman: The Animated Series.”

After her TV career ended and she completed production of a third child, Chandler spent two years as Senior Editor at boutique manga publisher “Go! Comi” where she had to learn how to read books backwards.

She is still writing.
